Nemours recently partnered with Track Shack and Lake Nona for the community’s inaugural 5k on November 1. The event took place at VillageWalk near the future home of Nemours Children’s Hospital. Nemours hosted the Nemours Kids’ Run and Healthy Kids’ Village for the children of race participants and community members. The event included entertaining activities for children along with free health information and Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings that were provided by Nemours physicians.

Nemours will break ground on its pediatric health care campus anchored by a children’s hospital in the Lake Nona Science and Technology Park this February and will open its doors to children and families in 2012. Nemours will offer an integrated spectrum of clinical treatment coupled with research, advocacy, and educational health and prevention services to the Central Florida community. The Nemours Children’s Hospital will be located in close proximity to the UCF College of Medicine, the Burnham Institute for Medical Research and the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
